Moved to Baltimore in 1900, and opened a shop there. Made instruments based on a Strad model until 1925, and thereafter used his own personal model. Made his own golden reddish brown oil varnish. He made more than 400 violins, 20 violas, and 28 cellos. This violin is an excellent example of his work, and is in good, lightly repaired condition.
