A wave of sweetness then crushed the flames and washed gravel up the shore with a bounty of heather honey
Turning a corner we discovered sweet roasted chestnuts
pineapple and strawberries dusted with icing sugar and a few mint leaves
This superb whisky is a testament to the beauty achieved through patient maturation and careful cask management
Cask No. 13.111 Irish Whiskey Date distilled: November 1989The neat nose displayed a vibrant and rather minty sherry profile, with a lot of orange notes such as spiced marmalade, orange blossom, satsuma and blood orange. Some water made it broader, more aromatic and richer, with many more dark fruits, pickled ginger, balsamic glaze and a dense, rich, earthy note. The neat palate displayed more wood spices, more ginger, some nibbling tannin, herbal liqueurs, woodruff tea, grapefruit and a nice tinge of rancio.
