In the southern Mexican states of Oaxaca and Chiapas grows the dwarf clustering Agave isthmensis

There are at least two areas south of Monterrey where a very similar looking agave grows

Agave horrida is found adjacent to the highway and parking is not permitted

after many years the plant gains enough energy to push a single stemmed spicate inflorescence filled with yellow

He also speculated that there were likely more populations to be found in the mountains

I dont really know to be honest, but its definitely very exciting ! This is a brand new cross, so the look of mature plants is yet to be seen. With those two knockouts as parents, theres bound to be some exceptional new offspring. The plant in the photo is in a 5 pot and is approximate size of plant when shipped.
