The original New Mexico Zia Sun Landscape was painted on a road map of New Mexico using thinned washes of acrylic paints to allow the map to show through the paint

I wanted to incorporate the two most familiar license plate colors into this landscape as well as the Zia symbol

It all started with a stack of 1940's sheet music from an estate sale. She cut, painted and pieced the sheet music to resemble trunks. The black and white leant itself quite well to aspen and birch trees.
