Slate calls are the most poplar calls used on spring turkey hunts. Color slate is a bit different from their cousin the Gray slate. I have color slate surfaced calls in the following slate colors Green, Red, and Purple. Colored slate is a harder surface than the gray slate. I place it somewhere between a glass surface and a gray slate surface. The
