Findings from research and monitoring groups such as the 2022 Tobacco Atlas, which monitors smoking prevalence and industry behaviour worldwide, and Stopping Tobacco Organisations and Products, an industry watchdog have shown concerted efforts by Transnational Tobacco Companies (TTCs) to market their products and gain influence in African countries
