It has beautiful hand painted flowers on all sides. It has a slide top opening lid so I am not sure if this was meant for candles, a sewing box, or another purpose. It is quite large for a candle box. Not including the top handle, it measures 8 inches in width, 7 inches in height and 14 1 2 inches in length. The top handle measures an additional 7 1 2 inches so that would make it 14 1 2 inches in total
