Acer palmatum Trompenburg Stella Rossa The bare winter framework ofThis cultivar was selected by the Trompenburg Arboretum in the Netherlands. It is actually a hybrid between acer palmatum and acer shirasawanum. The unusual leaves have 7 to 9 lobes. Each lobe is long ovate, with edges that curl down almost forming a tube.
