c1950s Maxim No2 Lap Steel Black New On the scales the instrumentCool old Melbourne made lap steel from notable instrument maker, Peter McCarthy! Made out in Richmond, these were around at the same time as Moody lap steels coming out of Sydney, and which often were sold under the Stradivarius name to the Adelaide College of Music. A super simple design, these lapsteels tend to have some lovely mid range warmth due to their hand wound pickups. Cosmetically, this example has been very well loved. The paint is
