Their story begins when King Vittorio Emanuele purchased the estate in the village of Serralunga dAlba as a gift for La Bella Rosina, the woman he loved. The land was so prized, that although Barolo was not yet established as the wine powerhouse it is today, Rosina requested: "If you really love me, give me that estate." In 1866, he purchased a
